One of our five top company goals is to create a best-in-class workplace, because we know that happy and productive employees are necessary to achieving all our goals and becoming a more sustainable company.
We demonstrate our commitment to our employees through our policies and practices. JHTNA is an equal opportunity, non-discriminatory employer, and we take affirmative action to achieve equal opportunities. We research local market conditions to make sure employee compensation is competitive, and we match our employees’ contributions to their retirement funds starting the day they are hired. We offer health and dental insurance to our employees and their families and domestic partners. For our employees’ convenience, we organize on-site car maintenance, dry cleaning pickup and delivery, chair massages, and employee carpooling.
Health and wellness
To promote a healthy lifestyle in accordance with our company values and mission, we offer many wellness options and incentives for employees. Through the Fit Club program, employees earn points for working out and for walking, running, biking, or carpooling to work. The points can be used to purchase workout gear, company apparel, or other items, or to cover registration fees for exercise classes or local races. Our locker rooms and secure indoor bike racks make self-powered commuting convenient.
On-site fitness options include working out in the fitness center, participating in yoga classes, boot camp, and run groups, or working with a personal trainer. We offer an employee purchase program so that our employees and their families can purchase JHT fitness equipment at or near cost.
We’re a pick-up site for community-support agriculture cooperative Simply Wisconsin, so employees can conveniently get weekly boxes of fresh, organic produce while supporting local farmers. Our tobacco-free campus reinforces our health commitment to employees and visitors.
Just like an athletic team, we offer continuous development and training opportunities to build a deep and strong “bench.” We support our employees in seeking professional development both as opportunities arise and as part of their annual performance evaluations. We’ve developed a company-wide training plan to link employee training with departmental and company objectives.
Our tuition reimbursement program helps employees enhance their current skills and improve their future potential. We reimburse 75% of the tuition (up to an annual maximum) for any course that makes an employee a more valuable member of JHTNA.
We know it’s important for our company to be involved in our community (see Our Community), but we also strive to make it easy and fulfilling for our employees to take the initiative to get involved. When we all work to strengthen our community in the ways we find most compelling, we multiply our positive effects.
In the past, our employees have organized potlucks and bake-offs to benefit cancer research and local food pantries, started Girls on the Run running groups, and rung bells for the Salvation Army’s holiday drive. We support these efforts by helping with organization and sometimes by sending volunteers on work time. In addition, any employee or member of the community can request that we donate a treadmill, elliptical machine or exercise bike to a fundraiser for a non-profit organization that promotes and supports health and wellness.
